Course Description

This 12 video course was designed to reflect everything that I have learned about how to effectively teach Pilates and movement principles to those returning to movement after pregnancy, injury, and/or athletes looking to develop their body from the inside out. No matter who you are, or what journey you are on, the work is the same - from the beginning.

This course is SO VERY DIFFERENT from anything else on the market. Besides being taught from the comfort of my very own living room (because that is where most movers will be practicing themselves), I've also used level one movers instead of trained professionals to help me break down one exercise after another in real time. You will see me diagnose and treat clients in real time the same way I would work with you in the studio. The benefit to this being that their insights are your insights.

How it works:

The course is broken up into two parts. Over the first nine weeks you will be taught the ins and outs of nine exercises, including variations for different body types and limitations. In weeks ten, eleven and twelve I will guide you through three different classes - a beginner, an intermediate, and an advanced. You will not be able to unlock the next chapter of the course until you have watched, practiced, and completed a small review of each week's exercise.

Why is the course taught this way? So glad you asked. I've designed the course in this way for two reasons:

1) Because I am teaching you a movement practice. If you are looking for some gimmicky Pilates course that you'll watch a few times and then forget about, well then this course is not for you. This course is for people who are serious about learning the foundations of a practice that will help them stay active, pain free, and vibrant for the rest of their lives. That is, as long as you continue to return to the practice - the practice of movement.

2) Because I have real reservations about the effectiveness of some online courses. That is why I spent countless hours researching the most effective and SAFE way to teach you online. I need to know that you are taking your time with each exercise and giving your body an optimal amount of time to learn, practice, rest and recover. Slowly building a practice over the course of twelve weeks will assure that your mind and body have time to integrate the work and that you are able to self monitor or adjust when appropriate.

Do I have to sign up at a certain time or day?

No, you can sign up at any time and work at your own pace.

Do I need any special equipment or a lot of space to practice?

No. You do not even need a Pilates or yoga mat. All you need is a little bit of empty wall and enough room on the floor to lie down. Oh and at one point I show you how you can incorporate a throw pillow and dish towel into the work.

What if I am returning to exercise after a long break, will I be able to keep up?

This course is perfect for people returning to exercise after a long break AND people who want to improve an existing movement practice. The foundations of movement are beneficial for everyone to learn. This course is taught in such a way that new movers, movers returning from a break, and athletes, will feel stronger, more flexible and most importantly, well-informed.

What if I don't have a lot of time to practice each day, is the course still worthwhile?

Yes! As a business owner, wife, and mother I often feel short on time too. That is why I have designed this course with the busy person in mind. The course will ease you into a practice that meets your needs both physically and mentally. Even if you cannot practice every day you will learn to incorporate these moves into your day if and when you are feeling sore, tired or stressed.

How do I watch the course? I can't travel around with my computer.

I tend to get bored easily with exercise DVD's, how do I know this won't be the same?

I can't make any promises but I will say this, I find a lot of exercise DVD's to be super boring too. That's why I have designed this course to reflect the principles of a developing movement practice. Once you feel confident that youhave mastered the exercises in the first nine videos then you can take as long as you want working your way through the beginner, intermediate and advanced classes. Plus, by the time you get to the advanced class you will feel comfortable designing your own classes based on your needs for the day.
